A card room is a place to wager on cards, but not slots. In California, card rooms are regulated by the Division of Gambling Control. Each facility must be licensed for each game offered; this licensing process requires the card rooms to keep a complete set of game rules on file with the state at all times. This may seem irrelevant to you, but think again: Since the games and games rules are on file with the state, you can look them up to make sure you know what you're doing before you lay down your cash.
