What Are the Clippers Going to Do?

Where are the Clippers headed for the last 30 games of the season? is the thought I ponder before writing this post. Will they trade away Marcus Camby to a contender, move Baron Davis and his contract. They did one rational move before the All-Star break by firing Mike Dunleavy. The reasoning was very nice, “The players where not listening to what he had to say.” They probably stopped listening because what he was saying was not making any sense and was not helping them win basketball games. All he usually had to say was what bad luck the Clippers were having with injuries and claiming about the officials or something. At some point in time you have to “Man Up” and deal with the cards you have been dealt. If he is a good coach he would have inspired the players he had and made the most of the situation. It is not much fun if you are filling in for Kaman and all you hear is we would be winning if Kaman was here. So hopefully Kim Hughes will be able to set a new tone and work with the players he has on the floor and not worry about what he does not have..
.

If the Clippers can get to the 45 win mark they might have a chance to make the playoffs but means they would have to go 24-6 in their remaining games, seems pretty unlikely but it could happen as long as they do not have to play the Warriors every game. Most likely they will not make the playoffs and will continue on to be an average team. Hopefully they will trade away Camby and get a couple of young players in return to compliment Kaman, Gordon, Blake Griffin, and Al Thornton. For the meantime we will all have to wait and see what Dunleavy and Sterling will do with this franchise.
