La Paz, Mexico Cruise Port

La Paz is a kickback seaside town located on the Sea of Cortez. You can spend your day relaxing at the beach, walking the town, diving, snorkeling or windsurfing. Carnival and Holland America cruise ships dock about 10 miles north of the town area, so plan on taking a cab after you get off the ship. Cab fare should be less than $10, but negotiate this with your driver ahead of time. Once in town, you can stroll a seaside walkway, enjoy the views and maybe stop at a cafe for a bite. A few blocks inland you'll find more shops and restaurants, a town square and an anthropology museum. Notable beaches include Playa Balandra and Playa Tecolote. The nearby island, Espiritu Santo, is great for snorkeling and kayaking.
