Acapulco, Mexico is a visually stunning destination that has long been associated with the rich and famous. The ship docks near the town square, and you can take a taxi into the Golden Zone tourist area for just a few dollars. Gorgeous beaches are within walking distance, and teeming with vendors offering you jet-ski rentals, parasailing trips, etc. If you are a shopper, be prepared to browse colorful clothing, crafts and ceramics, plus the usual touristy trinkets. Also, plan to head to La Quebrada where the cliff divers perform. A drive up the highway is another idea; the drive offers fabulous views of the cliffs, coves and beaches.
